Spritz Cookies

This is an recipe that I got from my mom. We used to make them every Christmas. I honestly forgot how good these cookies are, especially when they are still warm right out of the oven. These are one of those cookies that you will need a special piece of equipment called a cookie press.

Spritz (Butter) Cookies (makes about 4 dozen)

1# butter

1 ½ c. sugar

3 egg yolks

1 tsp vanilla

½ tsp salt

4 c. flour

Sprinkles

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cream butter and sugar.

Add egg yolks one at a time.

Mix in remaining ingredients.

Put into a cookie press and press directly onto the cookie sheet.

Sprinkle with colored sugar or other sprinkles before placing in oven.

Bake until slightly browned about 8-10 minutes.
